My daughter, Anna, has been playing ‘libraries’ today: she has sections for picture, factual and fiction books and has even created her own library tickets and check-out system ?. Apparently, this has been her most borrowed book and I can understand why. It’s a comical rhyming story that helps readers to understand that focusing on doing what they love is far more enjoyable and important than taking part just to win. It’s a great message – imparted with humour and heart – and accompanied by colourful, funny and expressive illustrations. I think this is number 2 in a series and our ‘head librarian’ has informed me (the newly designated book stockist) that we need to stock the others, too. I have now been sent away to place and pay for the order… ??
