My 6-year-old son is obsessed with Who Would Win? books at the moment. As I’ve mentioned before, he is a huge fan of non-fiction and this series has been cleverly crafted to engage children right from the front cover. As the title suggests, the purpose of the book is to analyse various facts about each animal to enable the reader to determine who they think might win various battles within the animal kingdom. It’s packed full of fascinating info and engaging graphics/page layouts and it’s a great book for sharing: we’ve had lots of interesting chats, discussing who might win based on the facts presented to us – I’ve also learned a fair few things too! While you can buy the books as singles, we went for the 5-books-in-one ‘Battle Royale’ as I knew that one battle would not be enough and funny old thing, I’m already being pestered to buy more (there’s no doubt that my kids play on my weakness for book buying!). It’s even been taken into ‘Show and Tell’, which is the biggest accolade a book can achieve in our house. It’s a definite keeper…
