Good deeds. Whether you like it or not.
Four animals with reputations for being bad guys – wolf, snake, piranha and shark – decide to become good guys by carrying out kind and generous deeds. What could possibly go wrong?!… These chapter books are not just funny, they are laugh ’til your belly aches funny. In fact, my son only has to look at the cover and he starts giggling, swiftly moving on to uncontrollable ‘rolling around on the bed’ howling as we progress through the story. The stories are brilliant for young readers as they are heavy on the graphics and light on (accessible) text, but also enjoyable for adults due to the healthy dose of dry humour. The stories are also great for sharing, and with Mr Wolf talking like an American wise guy and Mr Piranha coming from Bolivia, there are lots of opportunities for expressive voices. We’ve now got 5 out of the 9 books in the series – Hugo keeps asking for more and I will probably indulge him as I can’t resist the sound of my kids laughing so hard that they can’t speak…
